For me, clay is a vehicle to express the intense feelings that capture a moment.

I show this through surface manipulation and creating compositions between my pieces. I explore the relationship between the denseness of clay and gravity. The pieces are sometimes strung together using metal wire.  I see the sculptures as a composition, one note being dependent on the other in order to be heard.

I work with clay in many different ways and a big part of my practice is to teach ceramics. I also work with clay as a rehabilitation form and I am convinced that clay and creativity has the ability to both inspire and serve as healing.

I am interested in exploring surface texture of the ceramic material and relating it to intense feelings felt in different situations. I enjoy to observe and play with ceramics with different materials and often hanging it from the ceiling. The relationship between gravity and the heaviness of the ceramic material and how they work together is a theme in my work.
